How are the doorknobs finished?

Knobbs standard design doorknobs are hand sanded and coloured with water based woodstains.  They are then sprayed with a minimum of six coats of flooring grade lacquer, smoothed with the finest wire wool and finally polished with beeswax to give them a deep lustre.  All of these process are carried out in-house by human hand – not machines and none of our work is subcontracted.  Our bespoke styles in rosewood, cherry and oak are stained and then wax polished to bring out the beautiful grain in the wood.

This finishing process gives the knobs and roses an attractive and durable finish.  They are also available in sanded only finish for home completion.  As our doorknobs are individually hand made size and colour may vary ever so slightly.

Each set comprises of two doorknobs, one with an insert inside and one with a spindle.  We supply wooden roses with our standard designs and also have solid brass, nickel or chrome roses available.  Your doorknobs will arrive with all the fixings you will need – screws, allan key and grubscrew  along with some fitting instructions- everything is included in the price.

*Our doorknobs are not mass produced imports – we make them ourselves in our workshop in rural Pembrokeshire*
