How our bespoke door knobs are made..

Welcome to our website.  Knobbs Hardware specialise in producing wooden doorknobs to your bespoke design.  We have also created several bespoke designs of our own which a hand finished in seven different shades and are available with different collars and roses.  Please browse our products page for examples of doorknobs we have available to buy.  All our doorknobs are made to your specific order to enhance the look of whatever style of door you have in your home.

The Standard Designs - Atholl, Birnam, Caledonia and Dunsinane, are turned on a solid, heavy lathe using one piece tooling. They are made from beech - a plentiful, hard and tight grained hardwood that turns well and gives a good finish.

All our other doorknobs are hand turned on a specially built lathe. Here a variety of differently shaped chisels and calloused hands are the method of production. These knobs are made from a selection of timbers including beech, oak and rosewood. Any other available hardwood that you wish.

Where possible the materials for our doorknobs are sourced within the UK.  They are completed to our high standards in our workshop here in North Pembrokeshire.  Our doorknobs are made to order and as such we do not have rows of them sitting on shelves.  Therefore delivery time is usually within 2 weeks, but we will inform you of a delivery date at the time of ordering.  We will also give you a price for delivery as it varies depending on the size of the order.
